Lewis Crawford is a freelance photographer based in Manchester with a clean, elegant approach to commercial and editorial work.

For me, photography has always been a form of expression. I was introduced to the medium in secondary school, where I was told to “go out and create some special”, using a Lumix DMC-LS1 which was handed to me by my tutor. Seeing the world for the first time through a viewfinder inspired me to experiment with composition and develop a keen eye for detail. From that moment, I became fascinated with the way a single frame can capture a mood, a story, or an emotion.

I’ve always loved being outdoors, whether in nature or wandering through urban spaces, and from a young age I was drawn to capturing moments that feel both personal and universal. There’s something magical about conveying ‘that feeling’ within a photograph. You know, that sense of serenity, the quiet isolation of a mountain to yourself, or the fleeting beauty of a moment you wish could last forever. My work is guided by these experiences, focusing on storytelling and creating images that evoke a connection with my audience. Through my commercial and editorial work, I strive to combine technical skill with emotional resonance, crafting images that are not only visually compelling but also meaningful.
